Full moon party

Hello…..

We hope everybody is doing fine now autumn has started!
Here everything is still great (what do you expect after 3 weeks )
Last time we wrote we were in Ko Lanta.
In Ko Lanta we had a great time, we met some people who owned a bar and stayed there for a couple of drinks at night. The bar was right on the beach and the guy offered us some real Chinese shots….. Shots which were good for the body aha.
Here they come: ‘monkey brain in whiskey’, ‘cobra blood’ and ‘cobra snake in whiskey’
No way that I was gonna drink that. Vincent was contemplating and after seeing other people drinking the shots he decided to go for the least scary one, the cobra snake in whiskey. The taste was alright but not good enough to get excited about the other 2 shots.
It was a great night…. The day after was not that good for some….

After Ko lanta we went via Krabi to Ko Samui. In Krabi we stayed 1 day, where we’re screwed by an ugly Dutch guy with a Thai wife owning a tourist office, once again never trust your own people…. Anyway Krabi was not the place we wanted to be, it was like Salou in Thailand, so great to leave the next day….
So next day we took the boat and a bus (for 6 hours) to Ko Samui. It rained the whole day (apparently it’s rain season at the East coast and nobody told us) so a great day for traveling. In Ko Samui we had a nice small bungalow 10 steps from the beach and we met some friends we already met 5 days before.
We Realised we we’re charged double for the room with the guys from the TAT in Bangkok, (a tourist office owned by the government who will never overprice you to make extra money, yeah right) but hey we keep on smiling.

With these friends we hired a car and crossed over the island, we didn’t dare to hire a scooter because this island was like a small Bangkok, very busy with lots of crazy traffic.
That day we saw 2 waterfalls, at the first waterfall they told us that 2nd one was closed and that it was better to stay at the 1st one and spend some money there….
After being 2,5 weeks in Thailand we knew that they we’re talking nonsense so we decided to check it out for ourselves and of course the waterfall was as open as could be.
That night we went to a ‘real’ supermarket, Tesco yeah…. We bought 2 bottles of wine although that’s the most expensive alcohol you can buy, but today we felt right to buy.
To keep the cost low we arranged some takeaway food and had dinner together right on the beach…..nice
We played our favorite card game, Poker!!! and of course Vincent won….
After that a little light headed into bed.
The day after we played poker again with 8 people on the beach at night and I was chip leader almost until the end…. But hey Vincent was still in the game and won again from me and a guy from Alaska. (don’t worry, still same wallet hihi)

After Ko Samui it was time for Ko Phangan for the full moon party on Sunday. This is the biggest beach party off Asia and maybe in the world when it’s full moon.
Aprox. 2000 people come together on a beach where 10 different DJ’s playing their records. A lot of warnings in front about thieves, drugs abusers and violence kept us sharp, but nothing strange happened and we had a great party. Dancing bare foot under the full moon on the sand, how cool is that!?
We even had a fair journey fee back home what was surprising, because we were expecting 10x the fare….. so a great night out!!!

Today we moved to a new bungalow straight on the beach because we want to stay a bit longer on this nice, green and beautiful island.
This bungalow has a great view and 2 steps from the sea….
We’ll chill for a bit here and might leave Saturday to move on to the North but that’s only possible if it stopped raining up there (apparently everything is flooded)
If it’s still wet, we will enjoy ourselves here don’t worry…..
